Today, Crown Princess Mathilde of Belgium celebrates her 34th birthday. A woman of noble birth, she is one of three daughters to Count and Countess Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz. She is a former speech therapist who married Crown Prince Phillippe on December 4, 1999, and the couple now have three children: Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel and Prince Emmanuel.
She has just been chosen by the World Economic Forum as one of the Young Worldwide Leaders, a great recognition for her work with vulnerable people.
